Discipleship Groups

Connect in a discipleship group
and find encouragement

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as we see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Christ's church was meant to be like a BLAZING FIRE--hot, impassioned, and enduring! Without a vibrant connection to a healthy congregation, many "lone ember" Christians soon fade away in their faith. In contrast, believers who have encouragement and accountability in some sort of discipleship group or ministry team will be personally challenged to “burn on” in ever-increasing intensity as they walk with Christ. We firmly believe that EVERY believer needs some sort of small group connection. Here are the current small group offerings:

Forgiven & Set Free

Date: Starting mid-January (12 sessions)
Time/Place:  Inquiry only (confidential)

Forgiven and Set Free is a confidential Bible study for women who have been negatively impacted by past abortion.  Author Linda Cochrane says, “No matter what drives a woman to end a pregnancy, there are physical, psychological and spiritual side effects most don’t anticipate. Feelings of guilt, shame and grief become a heavy burden and many women feel they will never be free, that no one understands, that God will never forgive them.” Trained facilitators who have also felt the secret pain of past abortion lead participants to find help with issues such as denial, anger, forgiveness, depression and more through God’s word. Past participants have this to say about the study:

“Forgiven and Set Free was a life changer for me.”

“…a real blessing to all the hidden, hurting post abortive ladies out there.”

“It may have taken me 30 years, but I know God’s forgiveness now.”

Due to the sensitivity of the topic and out of respect for privacy, member identities and study location will not be made public.  To learn more, visit with Jody Clemens at Calvary (701-367-7362) or contact Kay Kiefer at forgivenandsetfree@bethelfc.com. All inquiries are confidential.

Wednesday Discipleship Groups

Date: Starting Jan. 8 (7 sessions)
Time: 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Meeting Location: Room 102

For many of us, inviting people into our lives and homes feels more like inviting judgment on our entertaining skills and stress on our maxed-out schedules. But what if you knew that opening your front door had the power to leave a legacy that radically changes the world? Together we will look to people in the Bible as our role model for hospitality. Learn to replace cultural expectations with Biblical Hospitality to create a legacy of invitation and reflect Jesus through simple acts of service. Contact Kathy Spriggs (701-866-7307) or Kathy Mitchell (701-306-2495) with questions.
