Discipleship Groups

Connect in a Discipleship Group
and find encouragement

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as we see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Christ's church was meant to be like a BLAZING FIRE -- hot, impassioned, and enduring! Without a vibrant connection to a healthy congregation, many "lone ember" Christians soon fade away in their faith. In contrast, believers who have encouragement and accountability in some sort of discipleship group or ministry team will be personally challenged to “burn on” in ever-increasing intensity as they walk with Christ. We firmly believe that EVERY believer needs some sort of small group connection. Here are the current small group offerings:

Sunday Discipleship Groups

Spiritual Warfare

Dates: Sept. 12-Dec. 19
Time: 9:00-10:00 AM
Meeting Location: 102

Are you facing a spiritual battle that seems too big to win? A sense of hopelessness or defeat that you can’t seem to beat? Satan knows he can block your effectiveness as a Christian if he can deceive you into believing you are nothing but a product of your past, subject to sin, prone to failure, or controlled by your habits.

Guided by Neil Anderson, this class will take a scripture-based, discussion-oriented approach to unpacking truth that leads to victory. Weekly sessions will be grounded in Biblical truth about who God is and who you are in Christ – join us any time!

The Reset

Time: 9:00-10:00 AM
Meeting Location: 106

Are you passionate about worship? You are welcome to join the members of the Praise Team as we meet and discuss the book “The Reset: Returning to the Heart of Worship and a Life of Undivided Devotion,” by Jeremy Riddle. This book encourages us to reflect on our hearts—are we focusing on what truly matters? Are we willing to lay down our idols? Are we prepared to love and worship Jesus with our whole heart? Don’t worry if you can’t sing or play an instrument: God can be glorified through all kinds of worship. We are looking forward to reflecting on the importance of authentic worship with you.

Forgiven and Set Free

Date: Tuesday evenings, starting September 14
Meeting Time/Location: Confidential

Forgiven and Set Free is a confidential Bible study for women who have been negatively impacted by past abortion.  Author Linda Cochrane says, “No matter what drives a woman to end a pregnancy, there are physical, psychological and spiritual side effects most don’t anticipate. Feelings of guilt, shame and grief become a heavy burden and many women feel they will never be free, that no one understands, that God will never forgive them.” Trained facilitators who have also felt the secret pain of past abortion lead participants to find help with issues such as denial, anger, forgiveness, and depression through God’s Word. Past participants have this to say about the study:

“Forgiven and Set Free was a life changer for me.”

“…a real blessing to all the hidden, hurting post abortive ladies out there.”

“It may have taken me 30 years, but I know God’s forgiveness now.”

“I got more than I thought was ever possible.”

Due to the sensitivity of the topic and out of respect for privacy, member identities and study location will not be made public.  To find out how to attend, visit with Jody Clemens at Calvary (701.367.7362) or contact forgivenandsetfree@bethelfc.com.

Other Opportunities

Weekly Prayer Gatherings: Psalm 66:19 says “But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.” Join us at noon on Tuesdays, 8:00 AM Saturdays, or Sundays at 6:30 PM in the Calvary prayer room (Room 105) as we seek the Lord for power in our lives and revival in our nation.

Life Groups: Many people feel scared to attend a church or a larger group/class, but Life Groups feel more like families – like inviting a friend for a meal, like asking questions together, like being honest about doubts and burdens. Life Groups offer a way for people to grow deeper in God’s Word as we follow the sermon series and discover scripture together. The focus is less on teaching and more on sharing community in homes, families, and authentic relationships. Interested in connecting with 2-3 other singles or families to journey together? Contact becky@calvaryfargo.com for details.
