Connect in a discipleship group
and find encouragement
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as we see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Christ's church was meant to be like a BLAZING FIRE -- hot, impassioned, and enduring! Without a vibrant connection to a healthy congregation, many "lone ember" Christians soon fade away in their faith. In contrast, believers who have encouragement and accountability in some sort of discipleship group or ministry team will be personally challenged to “burn on” in ever-increasing intensity as they walk with Christ. We firmly believe that EVERY believer needs some sort of small group connection. Here are the current small group offerings:
Sunday Discipleship Groups
Heaven (Randy Alcorn)
Date: Resuming Sept. 13
Time: 9:00 AM
Meeting Location: 208 (Youth Room)
When you imagine Heaven, what comes to mind? Do you think of angels, clouds, and eternal harp strumming? Or a bright, vibrant, and physical new creation? We all have questions about Heaven because God has put eternity in our hearts. Join us for this video/small group Bible study, "Heaven," (continued from last spring) as we explore the riches of the Lord's design for a physical New Earth that is filled with Christ’s presence and the richness of human culture. Heaven includes real people with real bodies enjoying close relationships with God and each other (eating, drinking, working, playing, traveling, worshiping, and discovering Earth as He intended it to be!). Connect with other believers and see eternity in ways that will surprise you, spark your imagination, and change how you live life today.
Masks are welcome but not required. Contact Wayne Eastman (701-371-2570) with questions.
Leading a Loved One to Christ

Time: 9:00 AM
Meeting Location: 106 (Choir Room)
Join us for this 3-week evangelism course, which offers you the basic skills needed to lead relatives and friends to salvation through Jesus. This includes scriptures you can share in an intentional approach. We will also talk about what to do with objections and how to encourage people to make a decision (rather than putting it off).
Masks are welcome but not required. To participate in this course, please sign up at the Information Center or contact Keith Kerbaugh at (701-866-6700). Dates TBA.
Youth Alpha (Confirmation)
Dates: Sept. 13-Oct. 11
Time: 9:00 AM
Meeting Location: 203
Want to explore faith, questions of life, and knowing Jesus? Eighth and ninth grade students are invited to join us for a Sunday AM “confirmation of faith" class. Join Pastor Dave, Brad Anderson, and Blake Carlson as we explore questions about the meaning of life, why Jesus died, why we pray, how to talk to God and read the Bible, and questions about things like evil, healing, and God’s plan for His people.
Contact Dave Motta (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions. Friends are welcome!
Jesus Among Secular Gods
Dates: Starting Sept. 13
Time: 6:00 PM
Meeting Location: Calvary foyer and Zoom
Want to walk confidently as a witness and defend the claims of Christianity when worldviews clash? All are welcome to join us as we study this Bible study book by Ravi Zacharius. As a belief in the secular gods of atheism, hedonism, relativism, and humanism continues to grow, Christians are often devalued or openly ridiculed as irrelevant. This 6-session study will help seekers explore the claims of Christ while providing compelling evidence for absolute truth as found in Jesus and revealed in Scripture.
Masks are recommended for participants. Meeting live at Calvary with a Zoom digital connection for those at home. Contact Greta Burck (701-361-2480) to get connected!

Wednesday Discipleship Groups
Trustworthy (Lisa Terkeurst)
Dates: Sept. 9-Oct. 14
Time: 6:30 - 7:30 PM
Meeting Location: Sanctuary
When hard times come and it seems God is deviating from “the plan,” we’re much more likely to want to tame God, not trust Him. It’s then that we begin to press into our ways and our own timing. Want to grow your confidence in the Lord and go His way rather than your own? Join us for this 6-week DVD driven study of 1 & 2 Kings (member book is $15).
Masks mandatory during video viewing, but we have two discussion group options (your preference!):
-Social distancing with masks in room 102
-Social distancing with optional masks in a separate room (tbd)
Contact Kathy Spriggs (701-866-7307) or Kathy Mitchell (701-306-2495) for details or sign up at the Information Center today!
