Our Story
“Forever, O Lord, Your Word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations.” (Ps. 119:89-90)
“Calvary is a diverse community becoming like Jesus in how we live, how we give, and how we multiply His love in the world.”
In 1879, Zion Evangelical Church was established. The first downtown Fargo structure was dedicated with this scripture: “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes . . .” (Romans 1:16).
The good news of Christ has been our cornerstone for over 100 years – as we’ve transitioned from Zion Evangelical to Calvary Evangelical Brethren to Calvary United Methodist to Calvary Fargo.
While our name and location has changed, one thing has not: our commitment to know Christ and make Him known.
