    Rape & Abuse Crisis Center. Crisis intervention, including safety assessments, temporary shelter, counseling, and legal assistance. (701-293-7273)

    Red River Children’s Advocacy Center. A child-friendly coordination of services: helping children at risk and facilitating healing and justice for victims of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. (701-234-4580)

    Sexual Abuse/Assault Resources. Detailing types of abuse, when and how to report, and where to find help.

    Workplace Sexual Assault/Harassment. Detailing types of abuse, red flags and prevention strategies, when/where to report, and where to find help.

  • Prairie St. John’s. Assisting with mental illness, chemical dependency, and suicidal tendencies in children, adolescents, adults, and their families. Free assessment and referrals available 24 hours/7 days a week. (701-476-7200)

    Southeast Human Services Center. Mental health services, addiction recovery, and crisis intervention. Walk-in assessments available. (701-298-4500)

    Valley Christian Counseling Center. Helping people navigate a journey toward healing and wholeness through compassionate, Christ-centered counseling. (701-232-6224)

    The Village Family Service Center. Counseling services, personal finance training, pregnancy and adoption resources, a Big Brothers/Sisters program, and much more. Day and evening appointments are available on a sliding-fee scale. (800-627-8220)

  • Furniture Mission of the Red River Valley. Offering a variety of gently used furniture to those coming out of crisis. (701-729-1410).

    Open Doors. Providing a free thrift store (clothing, shoes, household items, linens, etc.) to those in need. We offer friendship and encouragement to all who visit us; find hope through prayer, free Bibles, and information about finding friends who are following Christ. (701-799-7550)

    Stepping Stones Resource Center (Young Adults). Serving young adults ages 16-26, especially those homeless or at risk. Free lunches, wifi, computer access, and help with case management, bus passes, laundry items, diapers, clothing, etc. Shelter availability varies. (701-232-3301)

  • Emergency Shelter. Need a place to stay tonight? CARES coordinates emergency shelter across our region. Dial 211 for immediate assistance.

    New Life Center Fargo. Real change happens here. Helping men move from homelessness and hurt to healing and wholeness. Emergency shelter available. Hot, home-cooked meals served twice daily for anyone in our community who is hungry. (701-235-4453)

    Salvation Army Fargo. Helping people meet basic needs. Hot meals, clothing vouchers and personal care closets, counseling and crisis intervention, and assistance with rent, utility, and prescription costs. (701-232-5565)

    YWCA Women & Children’s Shelter. Transitional housing for women and children in crisis, including free counseling referrals, free childcare for residents, job loss programs, career counseling, and more. 24-hour call line available. (701-232-3449)

  • The Perry Center. Shelter, counseling, education, and mentoring for those facing an unplanned pregnancy. (701-241-9289)

    Women's Care Center of Fargo. You are not alone! The Women’s Care Center provides free and confidential pregnancy and STD testing, free ultrasounds, no-cost consultations with a nurse or doctor, and non-judgmental, evidence-based options.
