June Highlights

May/June Outreach: CityServe, ND

Calvary Family!  Thank you for serving the community outside the church walls during CityServe ND 2023!  Calvary had 38+ people sign up.

It was a joy to serve alongside each of you as we cleaned the YMCA Early Learning Center (attached to Calvary), delivered food to the Emergency Food Pantry, made sandwiches for Stepping Stones Resource Center, sorted winter coats at The New Life Center Thrift Store, filled Joy Bags, made sandwiches at the Heart and Soul Cafe, and much more.

You are a blessing to Calvary and the community.  I am so thankful for the time you sacrificed to serve others as Jesus served!  I encourage you to pray for the organizations you gave your time to.  I pray you will continue to serve outside of Calvary this year and into 2024.

In Christ, Lora M.

“A generous person will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25)

Giving is worship! God gave His Son, Jesus, as a ransom for our sin, and as His image bearers we are also called to lay down our lives for others. One of the ways we do this is by offering people CHRIST through our lives, our service, and our giving.

While seasonal schedules fluctuate, Calvary weekly ministry continues! Please prioritize your summer giving using online options at calvaryfargo.com/give or by mailing your offerings to 4575 45 St. South, Fargo, ND 58104.

The Calvary finance team is also targeting DEBT REDUCTION as a strategic priority for the immediate future. Our current building loan balance is around $1.5 million; the goal is to reduce this to $700,000 by January of 2026. Can you help? Designate special offerings “Building Fund” or check out some of the creative/alternative giving options detailed here.

As our loan payments go down, our gospel impact goes up! Every gift is important. Thank you for your prayerful sacrifice!

Victory in Jesus

God has given his children armor to wear in the battle between truth and lies, light and darkness, good and evil. In June, Calvary Kids celebrated the victory God gives us in worship and His Word. Check out photo highlights from the Keepers of the Kingdom VBS (June 11-15) and the recent kick-off of the Kids Worship Academy — meeting each Sunday from 9-10 AM. Jump in and join us anytime!

Join us Wednesday evenings in exploring the power of God as we study the miracles of Jesus. Family meal from 6-6:30, prayer, Bible study, song, and communion from 6:30-7:30. All ages welcome (kids and families included!). Sign up online or at the Info Center so we can plan for food. Contact henry@calvaryfargo.com with questions!

The Voice of the Martyrs presents Hearts of Fire – a virtual event where you’ll meet four courageous women who showed incredible commitment to Christ in the face of opposition. Hear inspiring testimonies of costly faith and worship from Michael W. Smith.

  • Gracia Burnham was held captive in the Philippines.

  • Anita Smith’s husband was martyred in Libya.

  • Helen Berhane was imprisoned in Eritrea.

  • Susannah Koh’s husband was abducted in Malaysia.“

Men, women, and youth welcome! More event info here. RSVP here. Contact Lora Miller (loramiller77@yahoo.com) for details.

Calvary Photo Directories are ready! If you submitted a photo, we have a copy with your name reserved at the Info Center (one booklet per family). Extra books and PDF copies will be available as well. Find your digital copy in the “resources” tab by subscribing to the Calvary Weekly Update group in our Church Center app.
